Europe The team we are recruiting for is on the technical side of the business and is considered one of the best in the North West. Their projects cover a wide range of areas, including large-scale data centers, aviation, rail, energy, industrial, pharmaceutical, and healthcare. There are currently over 30 engineers in the team, but there are plans to expand to 50 over the next few years. They are consistently busy with a diverse array of work, which continues to grow as they win more repeat business.
The engineers who join the team will primarily focus on the current workload, which includes a global data center framework won last year and automated warehouse/distribution centers for a well-known online retailer.
The data center work is particularly intriguing as it involves projects all over the world, from Shanghai to Monaco. The team manages several projects at any given time for the same client, with varying scopes and sizes, all being designed and managed by their Manchester office. There are opportunities for foreign travel or even secondments for the right individuals and for progression within the Manchester team as it expands.

Responsibilities:
You will primarily work within the data center sector or on automated warehouse/distribution projects at the start, as these areas require additional resources. Going forward, there will be opportunities to work in other sectors they operate in, such as aviation, pharmaceuticals, energy, and rail.
You will be involved in the day-to-day design duties of projects to meet client specifications and budgets. Note the complexity of these projects and some of the challenges the team has to overcome. Your role will include calculations, drawings, client meetings, site visits/surveys, and coordination with other disciplines.
This company operates as a team, so most of the time you will work on projects as part of a team. However, there may be individual work/projects occasionally, but due to their scale, most projects require a sizable team of engineers along with other disciplines.
Requirements:
Ideally, you will be degree qualified, chartered, or working towards Chartership. Other qualifications, memberships, and backgrounds will be considered with relevant experience.
Experience working on technically challenging projects such as data centers, industrial projects, healthcare, critical infrastructure, etc., is required.
Preferably, you should have 8+ years of experience working within a design environment.
